WOMAN CHARGED FOR FALSE REPORT

Sherwood Police cited Alison Reitz on charges of Disorderly Conduct and Initiating a False Report, in connection with her home intrusion report of July 7, 2011. Sherwood Police have taken this action due to the unnecessary alarm caused within the community and the needless expenditure of emergency resources, including assistance from Tualatin Police, King City Police, Washington County Sheriff's patrol officers and forensics staff, and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue paramedics.
Reitz was cited into Washington County Circuit Court with an appearance date of August 2nd. Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree is a Class B misdemeanor, carrying a maximum fine of $2500.00 and potential jail term of up to six months. Initiating a False Report is a Class C misdemeanor with a maximum fine of $1250.00 and possible jail term of up to 30 days. The citation requires an appearance at arraignment by the defendant or representation by legal counsel, where a plea is entered and the court establishes the amount of bail (security deposit), if any is imposed.
