Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into the rollover crash of a commercial truck Friday morning that resulted in the closure of Highway 66 east of Ashland. OSP has located the 46-year old male driver whose name will be released later today.

According to OSP Sergeant Tanya Henderson, on July 1, 2011 at approximately 11:15 a.m. a dump truck pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with an excavator was eastbound on Highway 66 near milepost 15 attempted to negotiate a curve when the trailer tipped over, blocking the highway.

The driver notified his company, JM Construction, of the crash and then left the scene before the company and emergency responders arrived. Some diesel spilled from the overturned excavator. The driver was identified and located this afternoon.

OSP was assisted by ODOT and a local tow company at the scene. The highway remains closed and traffic updates are posted by ODOT at www.tripcheck.com.
