At approximately 2001 hours on 072911, Clark County Sheriff's Office deputies and medics from North County Emergency Medical Service responded to 21320 NE Dole Valley Road for a single vehicle traffic accident where the lone operator was unconscious.
The un-helmeted operator of a 1990 Polaris Sportsman quad motorcycle was going down a steep private drive when he lost control of the vehicle and rolled it off the drive. When a nearby witness heard the quad engine racing, he went to investigate and found the quad on top of the unconscious operator. It appeared the operator struck his head on a rock.
Life Flight took the operator to a local area hospital.
The operator is 54-year-old Con M. McClure, a Yacolt resident. He was hosting a family celebration at the time of the collision. At the publishing of this release, McClure's condition is listed as critical.
Speed and alcohol appears to have been factors in this collision. The investigation is being continued by the Clark County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit.
