Portland Parks & Recreation and American Medical Response Partner for Safe Kids Water Safety Training
(Portland, OR) -
American Medical Response (AMR)'s River Rescue Team will distribute copies of Portland Parks and Recreation's swim lesson schedules to all parents at the following upcoming Safe Kids Water Training events:
Troutdale Parks and Recreation - Glen Otto Park:
August 3, 10:30 am
August 10, 10:30 am
August 18. 10:30 am
AMR team members are trained lifeguards who are also EMT's and paramedics. These seminars are for summer camp students, 20-40 at a time. Each session covers the Safe Kids Water Safety basics: swim with a buddy, throw don't go, wear a life Jacket and LEARN to SWIM! Copies of Portland Parks and Recreation's swim lesson schedules are being distributed to all parents.
The AMR team will also be providing water safety at several big upcoming events:
July 30 10am-4pm Day in Damascus, Damascus Park
August 6 10am-4pm Fun in the Park, Wilsonville
August 27 10am-2pm Clackamas Town Center Safety Fair
Information on Portland Parks & Recreation's swim lessons is available at http://www.portlandonline.com/parks/index.cfm?c=39778
There is still time to register for summer swim lessons at Portland city pools. The Portland Parks & Recreation Aquatics Department offers swim lessons for all ages and skill levels. Everyone should learn to swim to become "Water Smart" - swimming is a skill that lasts a lifetime.
You can register and receive summer lesson information by calling (503) 823-5130 or online at www.PortlandParks.org
