Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers arrested a Vancouver, Washington woman this weekend during a Portland-area traffic stop when it was determined she was wanted out of Washington State for Escape from Community Custody.
On July 9, 2011 at approximately 5:24 p.m. OSP Fish & Wildlife Division Trooper Matt Fromme and Trooper Caleb Borchers stopped a 1986 Ford Bronco for a traffic violation northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 306. Subsequent to the stop, the female passenger provided a name that when troopers ran a routine wants check it was discovered she was using a last name listed as an AKA (Also Known As) on an outstanding felony Escape warrant held by Washington State Department of Corrections.
The woman identified as MICHELLE DIANE CARPENTER, age 31, from Vancouver, Washington was taken into custody without incident for Fugitive From Justice. She was lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center pending extradition to Washington.
