CASE NUMBER: None at this time.
On 7/29/11 at about 2120 hours, Gresham police were called to the area of E Powell and SE Roberts for a report of a stabbing. It was also reported that a group of about 30 juveniles were in the area and lots of yelling was heard.
Arriving officers learned the victim, 21 year old Spensor Hill had already left the area and was on his way to Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center with a stab wound received during the altercation near the skate park.
Officers spoke with Mr. Hill at the emergency room and discovered he had a stab wound near his right armpit requiring multiple stitches to close. Mr. Hill described an argument between 2 groups of late teenage males near the skate park. The argument broke out into a fight and during the fight, Hill was stabbed. He does not know the attacker. It is anticipated Mr. Hill will be released from the hospital later this evening.
Officers located the crime scene and some evidence was recovered for processing. GPD Detectives were called and are responding to the scene at this time. A K-9 track was attempted however, there were so many persons in the area a track did not prove fruitful.
There is no other information to release until later in the investigation, most likely tomorrow. Persons with information on this attack are encouraged to call the Gresham Police detective unit at 503.618.2318.
