On Thursday June 30, 2011 at approximately 6:00 p.m., Adam R. Vanvactor, died as a result of a motorcycle crash in south Clackamas County.

On this occasion, Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported motorcycle crash reported to be in a filbert orchard, near the residential address of 33475 S. Barlow Road, in Woodburn, Oregon.

Monitor Fire Department personnel were first on the scene, and attempted to revive the 17-year-old male who was discovered to have crashed his motorcycle into a tree.

Prior to the arrival of Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputies, Adam Robert Vanvactor, 17, a resident of Oregon City, had died at the scene of the crash.

As required, The Clackamas County Deputy Medical Examiner also responded to the scene of this fatal crash to assist with the investigation.

The resulting investigation revealed the accident occurred on private property, and high speeds are considered to be a factor in the event. There were no indications that drugs or alcohol were involved.

Although there were no eye witnesses to this tragic incident, it was determined no other vehicles or people were involved in the crash.

Members of the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) were summoned to the scene to assist the victim's family with the emotional demands at the scene.

Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc. (TIP) is a national voluntary nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that those who are emotionally traumatized in emergency situations receive the assistance they need. To accomplish that goal, TIP Inc. works closely with local communities to establish emergency services volunteer programs. In these programs, well-trained citizen volunteers are called to emergency scenes to assist family members, witnesses, and other bystanders who the emergency system often must leave behind.
