On Friday, July 8, 2001, at 2:37 p.m. Clackamas County investigators representing the Clackamas County Inter Agency Task Force, Clackamas County Parole and Probation and the Portland Police Bureau searched a residence located at 7985 SE Stephanie Court, in Milwaukie.
This search was conducted in an effort to locate a known gang associate - with an extensive criminal history - who failed to report to his corrections supervisor, and has a pending arrest warrant for his parole violation.
This person being sought is identified as Steven Kevin Cervantes, 21. He is physically described as a Hispanic male, 5'11" tall, 195 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. (Photo Attached)
Steven Cervantes is also a suspect in a domestic disturbance that started earlier in the week at the SE Stephanie Court address. Cervantes is suspected of pointing a firearm at a female victim and threatening to kill her; then driving with the victim into Portland, where he pulled her hair and physically kicked her out of the car in Portland.
Portland Police Bureau was present on Friday to hopefully interview Cervantes regarding this portion of the reported domestic violence episode.
Although investigators were unable to locate 21-year-old Steven Cervantes at the residence, they did find his father present inside the home on Stephanie Court.
The father is identified as Arturo Cervantes-Valencia, age 40.
Arturo Cervantes-Valencia is a convicted felon for an illegal re-entry into the United States and also has an established criminal history involving assault, and an assortment of felony drug crimes. Valencia allowed investigators to search the house; however, refused to cooperate further in locating his son Steven.
During the search of the residence on Friday, Arturo Cervantes-Valencia was found to be in possession of meth, a fully loaded shotgun in the living of the residence, a loaded .380 handgun in his nightstand, and an additional fully loaded 9 mm handgun next to his bed.
Valencia is a convicted felon and is not allowed by law to be in possession of firearms.
Investigators also located and seized as evidence scales, packaging and a cutting agent. Valencia is an admitted meth user.
As a result of this investigation, Arturo Cervantes-Valencia was transported and lodged in the Clackamas County Jail with criminal charges identified as: (Photo Attached)
* PCS meth
* Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
* It is expected Valencia will also be charged with manufacturing of a controlled substance meth at a later date.
* An Immigration hold is also in place.
Cervantes-Valencia is scheduled to appear on these matters on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in Clackamas County Circuit Court.
