WINSTON MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING ATTEMPT TO ELUDE ON MOTORCYCLE

A 22-year old Winston man was arrested Sunday night by an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper after he attempted to elude the trooper on his motorcycle south of Roseburg.
On June 12, 2011 at approximately 10:00 p.m. an OSP trooper was patrolling southbound on Interstate 5 about five miles south of Roseburg when a 2003 Honda motorcycle came up from behind at a high rate of speed. After the motorcycle occupied by two people passed the trooper on the right, the trooper activated his emergency lights to stop it.
The motorcycle continued southbound on Interstate 5 and took the exit 119 off ramp onto Highway 42 where it continued at speeds between 110 - 120 mph. After traveling through a red light, the motorcycle slowed and yielded two miles later.
The motorcycle's operator, WYLEY A. BARTLETT, age 22, from Winston, was arrested and lodged in the Douglas County Jail for:
* Felony Attempt to Elude a Police Officer on a Vehicle
* Reckless Driving
* Recklessly Endangering Another Person
