VANCOUVER POLICE LOCATE LARGE MARIJUANA GROW IN RESIDENCE
Posted: June 10th, 2011 2:37 PM

On June 10, 2011 at approximately 10:00 a.m., a West Precinct Neighborhood Police Officer (NPO) received a phone call from a couple who volunteer with the Vancouver Police Neighbors On Watch (NOW) program regarding suspicious activity they noticed at a residence located at 124 Broadview Lane. Vancouver Police responded to the tip and discovered what appeared to be signs of a Marijuana grow inside the residence. The Clark/Skamania Drug Task Force was notified immediately and a search warrant for the residence was executed revealing a large, sophisticated Marijuana grow in the house.

Detectives from the Clark/Skamania Drug Task Force and Officer from the Vancouver Police Department are currently removing plants from the residence.

This case is a great example of citizens getting involved to work in partnership with police to make their community safer and highlights community policing in action!

(For media information only: the Neighborhood Police Officer who received the tip as well as the NOW volunteers who called it in will be at the scene for media interviews throughout the afternoon).
