Six people were injured, two seriously, in a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening on Highway 22E about fourteen miles east of Salem. Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation.

According to OSP Senior Trooper Doug Brown, on June 16, 2011 at approximately 6:44 p.m. a GMC van driven by GEORGE L. MICHAEUX, age 53, from Tennessee, was westbound on Highway 22E when a PT Cruiser driven by HOLLIE GOLDEN, age 42, from Mill City, pulled out from Fernridge Road into the van's path. The van collided into the passenger of the PT Cruiser. The PT Cruiser came to rest in a field along side of the highway.

MICHAEUX and his four passengers were transported by ambulance to Santiam Memorial Hospital with various injuries. His injuries are considered serious. His wife, RITA MICHEAUX, age 47, and their three children ages 16, 15, and 11 were the other injured occupants.

GOLDEN was transported to Salem Hospital with serious injuries.

Safety restraint use information is not available.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Stayton Fire Department and ODOT. Highway 22E was closed about one hour at the crash scene.
