SERIOUS INJURY MOTORCYCLE CRASH - HIGHWAY 395 SOUTH OF DALE IN NORTHEAST OREGON

Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into Sunday morning's motorcycle crash that seriously injured an Everett, Washington couple on Highway 395 a half mile south of Dale in northeast Oregon.
According to OSP Senior Trooper Larry Johnson, on June 12, 2011 at approximately 11:30 a.m. a 2010 Polaris Victory motorcycle with two occupants was southbound on Highway 395 near milepost 65 when it failed to safely negotiate an "S" curve. The motorcycle traveled off the east side of the highway and came to rest about 20 feet down an embankment. Both occupants were ejected from the motorcycle.
Operator JAMES K. POLLOCK, age 47, and passenger SHARANN POLLOCK, age 41, from Everett, Washington were initially transported by ground to Dale where Air Link took them by air to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. Both persons were wearing protective helmets. JAMES POLLOCK is reported in serious condition and SHARANN POLLOCK is in critical condition.
Two unidentified off-duty paramedics from the Portland area were first on scene and started emergency medical care. They were joined by U.S. Forest Service personnel until the couple was transported from the area to the hospital.
ODOT also assisted at the scene.
