On Thursday, June 2, 2011, at 3:30 p.m. the first in a series of (3) three theft snatching events occurred in the area of SE 122nd Ave and Sunnyside, in Clackamas County. The suspects believed responsible for these three events have not been apprehended. The attached suspect forensic sketch and vehicle descriptions are being published with the expectation the suspect will be recognized and identified by the public.
Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 3:30 p.m.:
The first incident was reported by a 17-year-old female resident of Clackamas. This victim reports walking home from Clackamas High School and was approached by an unknown male subject; who then pushed her to the ground while removing and stealing her cell phone that she was holding in her hand. The suspect was last observed departing the scene in a black SUV with tinted windows. CCSO 11-16421 (Robbery 3)
Thursday, June 2, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. (90 minutes after the first incident):
An unknown male suspect forcibly stole a purse from a 46-year-old female victim who was in the process of unloading a shopping cart full of groceries into her vehicle. The victim purse was sitting in the shopping cart when a black Acura SUV approached her location allowing a male suspect passenger to grab and remove the purse from the cart. Witnessing this act, the victim was able to respond grabbing the shirt of the male suspect; who then broke free of her grasp and fled the scene with the stolen purse in the described suspect vehicle. This theft occurred in the parking lot at 12032 SE Sunnyside Road, in Clackamas. CCSO 11-16424
Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 8:55 p.m.:
An additional female victim, age 50, reports walking in the area of Nella Way and Sunny Way, in Happy Valley. This woman reports a vehicle passed her along her walk on two occasions, and soon encountered the same vehicle parked with a male subject standing outside the vehicle on Sunny Way. The male subject reached and attempted to retain the victim's iPhone. The victim was quick and able to retrieve the iPhone from the grasp of the young male suspect. The suspect vehicle, described as a beige colored Kia, 4-door sedan, with a total of three male occupants fled the scene - empty handed. CCSO 11-16630
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:
* White male adult
* 18 - 23 years-of-age
* 5'10" tall
* 180 lbs.
* Medium complexion
* Dark hair and unshaven
The suspect is described to have been wearing a T-shirt, flannel/button-up shirt and blue jeans.
SUSPECT VEHICLES
Two different vehicles are said to be associated with the identified crimes. The two described vehicles are identified as:
1. Most likely a 2004, Tan colored, KIA Spectra.
2. The additional vehicle is possibly a black colored, KIA or Acura, SUV type automobile. (Both Images Attached)
FEMALE VICTIM AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEW TODAY AT 1:00 P.M.
The victim who had her purse stolen in the grocery store parking lot will be available to interview with media at 1:00 p.m. today, Thursday, June 16, 2011.
The victim and Detective Gil Millett will both be available at the Happy Valley Police Department, located at 12915 SE King Road, in Happy Valley 97086.
