GRESHAM, Ore. - The City of Gresham's Healthy Eating Active Living initiative will host its second public forum on Tuesday, June 28 to share information about how communities are encouraging physical activity and health through planning and neighborhood development, and to learn what could improve Gresham residents' access to sidewalks, parks and other amenities including a greater range of food choices.

It runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Rockwood Library, 17917 S.E. Stark St. Public input will be encouraged.

The City's effort is part of a broader Multnomah County-led program, funded by a grant from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to promote wellness in children and adults, reduce risk factors, and encourage positive, sustainable health changes. Gresham's effort will evaluate policy choices for the built environment, which includes everything from neighborhoods and roads to parks and other spaces.
