Posted: June 6th, 2011 9:00 AM

Oregon State Police (OSP), with the assistance of the Medical Examiner's Office, is continuing the investigation into the cause of death of a 60-year old Roseburg woman found unconscious in her vehicle about three miles south of Cottage Grove. Preliminary investigation indicates her cause of the death is not suspicious and is possibly related to a medical problem.

According to OSP Trooper Jered McLain, on June 5, 2011 at approximately 7:40 p.m. a 9-1-1 call was received of an unconscious woman in a vehicle on the west side shoulder of Interstate 5 southbound near milepost 171. A motorist who stopped to see if the woman needed help with her disabled vehicle discovered she was not breathing. A second motorist was flagged down who made the 9-1-1 before starting CPR. McLain arrived before medical emergency responders and took over CPR efforts until relieved by medics.

The woman identified as CAROL LEE WEAVER, age 60, from Roseburg, was pronounced deceased about 30 minutes later by paramedics.
