DATE CORRECTION: FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH - INTERSTATE 84 EAST OF TROUTDALE (PHOTO)

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers with the assistance of Multnomah County Sheriff's Office are investigating a fatal motorcycle-involved traffic crash on Interstate 84 about four miles east of Troutdale. One person is deceased and a second motorcyclist was transported with serious injuries. No names are being released at this time and the left eastbound lane is open for traffic with delays traveling through the area.
On June 10, 2011 at approximately 12:05 p.m. a group of motorcyclists were traveling together eastbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 21 when a crash occurred involving two motorcycles. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene and a second transported by ground ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center with serious injuries. The crash was witnessed by a Multnomah County deputy who was following the motorcyclists.
Traffic was blocked eastbound until about 1:00 p.m. when the left lane was re-opened.
A non-injury crash occurred in the westbound lanes next to the traffic scene. The westbound lanes remained open and that crash is being investigated by Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.
OSP troopers from the Portland Area Command office are leading the investigation.
