Clackamas County Major Crimes Team report Gladstone death as a homicide

CLACKAMAS COUNTY MAJOR CRIMES TEAM REPORT GLADSTONE DEATH AS A HOMICIDE

The Clackamas County Major Crimes Team is providing an update on the Gladstone suspicious death investigation. 54-year-old Debbie Lee Higbee Benton's death is being investigated as a homicide. Investigators are still conducting interviews with family members, friends, and acquaintances of the victim.
The cause of death is not being released to protect the integrity of the ongoing criminal investigation. It is important that interviews still being conducted are not compromised by the release of critical information.
Investigators are again asking that anyone that may have been in the area of the Gladstone Beauty Salon on Saturday between 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to contact police with any information that might aid in the investigation. On Saturday evening, May 28, medics and police responded to a death investigation at the Gladstone Beauty Salon at 430 Portland Avenue in Gladstone. The Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office later determined the death to be suspicious in nature. The deceased is identified as 54-year-old Debbie Lee Higbee Benton.
The Clackamas County Major Crimes Team, Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office, and the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office are conducting the investigation.
