No-questions-asked 'Prescription Drug Take-Back' set for Sept. 25 (This coming Saturday)

Do your part to keep prescription drugs out of the hands of our youth and out of our water supply!

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Oak Lodge Sanitary and Walgreens host a no-questions-asked "Prescription Drug Take-Back" event on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Public Safety Training Center (12700 SE 82nd Avenue, Clackamas, on the corner of SE 82nd and Sunnybrook).

Clackamas County deputies will be on-hand to accept your unwanted medications at your driver's-side door. Again, this is a "no questions asked" take-back, and you do not need to provide any identification. These medications will be disposed by incineration.

In a recent study of 139 streams in 30 states, drugs turned up in 80% of the samples. Filtration and treatment can only do so much to purify our drinking water -- so flushing medication is no longer a viable option
