OSP TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO 8 LBS. OF MARIJUANA, ARREST OF BANDON MAN (PHOTO)

An Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper arrested a Bandon-area man early Tuesday morning during a traffic stop when approximately 8 lbs. of freshly cut marijuana was found inside the man's vehicle.
On September 21, 2010 an OSP trooper from the Coos Bay Area Command office stopped a 1991 Chevrolet Blazer displaying Oregon license plates in Coos Bay on Highway 240 for a traffic violation. While speaking to driver CLAYTON DELOY THOMPSON, age 22, from Bandon, the trooper noticed several boxes on the rear passenger seat containing approximately 8 lbs. of freshly trimmed green marijuana. Estimated value of the seized marijuana is $20,000.
THOMPSON was arrested and taken to the Coos County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Distribution, and Manufacture of Marijuana.
