NEWBERG MURDER SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

The Clackamas County Sheriffs Office responded to 15715 S. Hattan Road, Oregon City based on information received from the Newberg Police concerning a Murder Suspect from their jurisdiction a Jonathan Williams. This occurred at 5 p.m. today, Clackamas County Sheriffs Office Deputies set up containment of the house prior to the CCSO Special Weapons and Tactics Team arriving. Mr. Williams apparently saw this and ran from the house, he was taken into custody immediately without further incident. Mr. Williams was positively identified as the suspect in the Newberg Homicide and is being taken to the CCSO North Station at this time.
The CCSO SWAT team is still at the residence as there is a female inside refusing to come out, it is unknown who she is at this time.
This was a collaborative effort by Clackamas County Sheriffs Office and the Newberg Police. Units are still at the house at this time attempting to make contact with the individual inside.
Sgt. Pete Tutmark relayed this information and is the Incident Commander at the scene.
