On Thursday, August 5, the Neighbors Southwest and the Sexton Mountain Neighborhood Association Committees (NACs) will host their third annual National Neighbors Night Out event as part of a national effort to bring neighbors together and generate support for local anti-crime programs.

This year's event will feature representatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Beaverton Police Department and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue as well as more than 30 merchants from Murray Scholls Town Center and Murrayhill Marketplace. In addition, kids of all ages will enjoy live music by the Beaverton Community Band, free ice cream and face painting. Several local artists from the Beaverton Arts Commission will showcase their work. Regency Center Property Management is generously providing the location for the Neighbors Southwest and Sexton Mountain NAC National Neighbors Night Out. Thank you also to the many volunteers and local businesses for supporting the event.

About Neighbors Southwest NAC and Sexton Mountain NACs
The Neighbors Southwest Neighborhood Association Committee and Sexton Mountain NACs are two of 11 NACs formally recognized by the City of Beaverton to increase citizen involvement and help strengthen the community. Neighbors Southwest and Sexton Mountain meet jointly on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Nancy Ryles Elementary School (10250 SW Cormorant Drive). The next Sexton Mountain/Neighbors Southwest NAC Meeting is on September 15 at 7 p.m. and will feature a presentation by Beaverton Police Chief Geoff Spalding.
