Over the past year, Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) has made several major improvements, including a new community garden, picnic tables and benches, lighted pathways, and more at Gilbert Heights Park, located at SE 130th & Boise. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marks the official "re-opening" of this popular neighborhood park.
The party will also include hot food, cold treats, and plenty of family-oriented activities, as well as live music by the band The Sounds of Norman. At dusk, there will also be lots of popcorn on hand to enjoy with the free Movie in the Park, "Shorts:The Adventures of the Wishing Rock," part of PP&R's Summer Free For All.
