ODOT/Valley, No. Coast: At the request of the U.S. Forest Service, ODOT will close OR 242, the historic McKenzie Highway, effective 3 a.m., Thursday, August 26. The highway is being used heavily by firefighters and equipment associated with the Scott Mountain Fire, approximately six miles north of OR 242. Closing the highway to public use will increase safety for the public and the firefighters. UPDATE
