PRELIMINARY INFORMATION: FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH - HIGHWAY 35 BETWEEN PARKDALE AND HOOD RIVER

An adult female died and her husband was critically injured Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 35 about fourteen miles south of Hood River. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers, working in conjunction with the Hood River County District Attorney John Sewell, are continuing the investigation.
Preliminary information indicates on July 13, 2010 at approximately 7:20 p.m. a southbound tow truck driven by an adult male was involved in a head-on collision with a 2007 Toyota Corolla containing two occupants. The adult male driver in the Toyota was transported by LifeFlight to Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland and the female adult passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.
OSP troopers from The Dalles Area Command office are still on scene investigating the crash. All names are withheld for release on Wednesday.
Hood River County District Attorney's Office, Hood River County Sheriff's Office, Parkdale Fire & Rescue, Hood River Fire Department, and ODOT are assisting at the scene. The highway is closed and a detour is in place. Traffic updates may be found at www.tripcheck.com .
