On Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 9:20 a.m. a feisty female Certified Public Accountant, Stephanie Davies, age 39, was attending to her place of business at the Financial Services Group, located on SW Miley Road, in Wilsonville.
Shortly after 9:00 a.m. this morning, Stephanie Davies reports she was approached at the front counter of her business by a young male subject seeking directions to a local motel. This inquiring male subject requested these directions be written on a piece of paper, and the courteous Davies complied with his request. It was during this distracted moment in time, the male subject seized this opportunity to grab the iPhone belonging to Stephanie Davies from the counter and fled the area in a motor vehicle.
Little did the suspected thief realize Stephanie Davies is a determined individual -- and a parent -- who subscribes to a cell phone application enabling her to electronically track to the precise location of her families cellular telephones.
Stephanie Davies alerted her husband of the theft as she was about to embark on her own to track down her cell phone and the suspect. Fortunately, her husband suggested Stephanie contact the Wilsonville (CCSO) Police Department for assistance.
Shortly thereafter, Stephanie was accompanied by several Wilsonville Police Officers while tracking this stolen cell phone to the Motel Six, located at 17950 SW McEwan Road, in Lake Oswego. In particular, room number 118 of this complex.
After a brief investigation at this specific room, found to be occupied by several adult relatives of the suspect, the suspected thief was identified on the spot by Stephanie Davies. In addition to identifying her suspect -- Stephanie Davies was thrilled to have accomplished her mission and recovered her stolen iPhone too.
This believed suspect was providing multiple names to investigators and was ultimately arrested, then transported to the Clackamas County Jail, properly identified by finger printing, cited and released. (Photo Attached)
This apprehended suspect is identified as Ricky Tony George, age 19; who is believed traveling as a transient with additional family members. Ricky George has an established criminal history including theft and driving offenses.
Ricky George is cited to appear for the two charges of theft in the second degree and for providing false information to a police officer. George is scheduled to appear on this matter in Clackamas County Circuit Court, April 4, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. [END]
