Dear Trimet, your current proposed cuts for September 2010 has really set off a nerve in me. Please let me explain.
Firstly, cutting the 154-Willamette line would be murder on the Willamette area of West Linn. Did you know there is a food pantry right along that route? What would people do if they need to get up there but they don't have a car? I know it might not have a lot of riders, but AT LEAST make that a rush hour bus. Don't cut this vital lifeline to the citizens of West Linn.
Secondly, cutting the 32-Oatfield to weekdays only would be disaster to the Upper Oregon City area. Do you KNOW how many people use this bus to get to the college or other businesses? Eliminating this bus on the weekends would end up HURTING the economy in that area.
Thirdly, getting rid of the 33 loop through Arlington would be the most STUPIDEST move you could make. All that would be left would be the 79, but most people are going to Clackamas Community College. So why get rid of that loop when instead just make all 33 buses go to CCC, thereby giving more service to those needing to get up there for classes.
Thank you for your time reading this. Please take my input along with all others and at least SAVE the 154!
