SW 9TH AVENUE BETWEEN SW TAYLOR AND SW YAMHILL NOW OPEN TO TRAFFIC
Posted: February 12th, 2010 3:20 PM

(Portland, OR) – Streetscape work has been completed and SW 9th Avenue between SW Taylor and SW Yamhill has been reopened to traffic. The street and adjacent sidewalk has been closed for several months during construction of Director Park. The final stage was to line the street and adjacent sidewalk with the same granite as the park.

The curbless, bollard-lined granite streetscapes, which extend the 1-acre park from building to building across SW 9th and SW Park Avenues, were designed to create a unique, pedestrian-friendly environment and attract new foot traffic to this part of the downtown core.

Short, temporary closures next week may be required in order to get soil and rock placed in the stormwater management systems along SW 9th Avenue. Final completion of the Director Park project is anticipated by the end of March.
