CRAIGSLIST ARMED ROBBERY INVOLVES STOLEN VEHICLE

On 7-31-14 at about 10:40 pm deputies with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an armed robbery at 27910 SE Dee Street in Boring.
On the afternoon of the 31st the victim, an adult male, found a vehicle that he wanted to purchase on Craigslist. He communicated with the seller via telephone and they agreed to meet at a gas station in Boring after the seller got off work in the late evening. The buyer/victim agreed to bring the purchase amount in cash.
The vehicle plate was on the Craigslist advertisement. A check of that plate and the vehicle description match a stolen vehicle from Clackamas County Oregon VBW632. The victim was not aware of the stolen vehicle information.
When the victim and his family arrived at the gas station at about 10:30 pm the seller called and told him to drive to "his" nearby home at 27910 SE Dee Street. When the victim arrived in the area he noticed that the home was dark. They stopped in front of the home and when they did so were confronted with two armed men with semi-automatic handguns. One of the suspects pressed the handgun into the victim's forehead and demanded the money. He then tried to pull the victim through the window of the car. The other suspect tried to open the driver's door. The victims were able to drive away and immediately call 911. The suspects did not obtain the cash from the victim.
The suspects are described only as two white males, possibly in their 20's, wearing dark clothing and dark masks.
Multiple units including a police canine unit responded, but the suspects were not located.
It was discovered that the home where the victim had been directed is abandonded.
At this time the victims are not prepared to speak with the media. Should this change, we will communicate their contact information via press release.
As of the time of this press release the vehicle is still listed as being stolen. Anyone seeing the vehicle should contact 911.
Detectives are working on leads assoicated with this case.
