Just before noon today Hillsboro Fire and Rescue was dispatched by Washington County 9-1-1 to a medical call at the Intel Ronler Acres campus in Hillsboro. Upon arrival the crew of Engine #3 found that the person needing medical assistance was located in a below grade work area. They also realized that lifting him out to level ground was going to be a challenge. To lift the man safely the crew utilized a crane and a medical basket specifically designed for the task. Hillsboro firefighters climbed down and placed the man in the basket, the crane operator then lifted them to level ground and the awaiting Metro West ambulance. The worker was transported by Metro West Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
