VANCOUVER POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION (UPDATE: ID'S-CORRECTION TO LAST NAME)

Vancouver Police have been notified that the passenger in the collision, Brittney K. Deter, 21, of Vancouver, did not survive her injuries. The driver in the collision, who was deceased when emergency personnel arrived, was Julie E. Deming, 32, of Vancouver.

On April 27, 2013 at approximately 1:58 a.m., Vancouver Police were called to the area of SE McGillivray Blvd./SE Olympia Dr. for a single vehicle traffic collision. When officers arrived, they located a Ford F150 pickup wrapped around a tree and light pole. Two females were inside the truck, one was deceased and the other has life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The Vancouver Police Traffic Unit is investigating and at this time excessive speed and possibly alcohol were factors in the collision. The identities of the two females are not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin and the ongoing investigation.
McGillivray Blvd. is closed in both directions from Olympia Dr.-140th Ave. and will remain closed while investigators are on scene.
