On March 12, 2013, information regarding a wanted murder suspect from Washington State led law enforcement officers to Westshore Oceanfront Motel west of Highway 101 in Lincoln City. Lincoln City police, with the help of Oregon State Police SWAT team and Lincoln County deputies, have secured the area around the motel while they try to negotiate with a man barricaded inside a motel room. Other motel rooms have been evacuated and surrounding city streets are blocked. Area residents were contacted by a reverse 911 call asking they remain in their homes until the situation is resolved.
No additional information to be released at this time. Updates will be provided if requested by Lincoln City police.
