HILLSBORO FIRE ENGINEER BEN ROBY RECEIVES FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR HONORS

For his many and unfailing contributions to Hillsboro Fire and Rescue, Engineer Ben Roby has been selected by his peers as 2012 Firefighter of the Year. Ben, who joined the department in April of 2004, was recognized for this honor at the Hillsboro American Legion Post 6 Annual Firefighter Appreciation Dinner on March 12th.
"Ben Roby consistently demonstrates all of the qualities Hillsboro Fire and Rescue is known for, quality customer service, a strong work ethic, teamwork, outside-the-box thinking, and professionalism in every aspect of his job. He is truly deserving of this recognition", said Hillsboro Fire Chief Greg Nelson at last night's presentation.
In addition to his firefighting duties, Ben who is also an EMT-Paramedic has headed the department's EMS Operations Committee for the last 2 years and serves as a member of the department's Apparatus Committee.
