CAR BACKS INTO RESTAURANT INJURING ONE

Just after 12:45 this afternoon a SUV driven by a teenager backed into the Casa Del Pollo Restaurant at 15910 Boones Ferry Road in Lake Oswego. The driver hit the building at a significant speed damaging the front porch and entry way. There were 9 customers in the small restaurant at the time but miraculously only one received a minor injury to the arm. "Normally several people are sitting at the front door during lunch hours. I am so glad that was not the case today" said Jorge Zuniga, owner of the restaurant. "Those people would have been badly hurt or even worse if they would be sitting there" he said.
Lake Oswego firefighters evaluated several people on the scene but no one was transported by ambulance. A construction company was called to assist with shoring the building and securing it until repairs can be made. The incident is being investigated by Lake Oswego Police Department.
