CCSO: SHERIFF'S OFFICE SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM RESPONDING TO TIMBERLINE LODGE FOR OVERDUE CLIMBER

Today, Monday, February 6, 2012 at 1:54 p.m. the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office received report of an overdue climber on Mount Hood. Clackamas County Search and Rescue is responding to Timberline Lodge now.

Mountain Wave Search and Rescue and Portland Mountain Search and Rescue are also responding to the call.

The climber, a 32-year-old Tigard man, is reported to be an experienced climber who has summitted Mount Hood as many as 15 times and as recently as last month. He left Timberline last night at midnight and was expected to return by 11:00 a.m.

Teh climber's vehicle is still in the parking lot and he has not signed back into the climber's registry, indicating he has not yet returned to Timberline.

There is no further information at this time.
