The following information is being released Thursday afternoon, January 27, updating developments in the ongoing search for suspect DAVID ANTHONY DURHAM, age 43, related to Sunday night's shooting of Lincoln City Police Officer Steven Dodds:

* Today, the Oregon State Police SWAT team was joined by Portland Police Bureau SERT and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office SWAT team members in an effort to help resolve the search as quickly and safely as possible in the Bayshore and Sandpiper areas. Approximately 60 tactical members from the three agencies worked methodically through the residential area where DURHAM was last seen fleeing toward Sunday night.

* Utilizing the additional resources on the ground, the enhanced search strategy was assisted by air resources provided by Jackson County Sheriff's Office (helicopter) and Oregon State Police and Portland Police Bureau (airplanes).

* During an 8-hour period today, the ground tactical teams completed a search of Bayshore and Sandpiper areas which are comprised of approximately 1,200 occupied and unoccupied homes. An area north to the community of Seal Rock was also searched. This area encompasses approximately 3.5 miles along the coast west of Highway 101. Tactical teams were able to contact some area residents to check on their safety and seek any information to assist with this investigation and search. Other residences were checked with the assistance of property managers or telephone contacts with property owners, who in some cases traveled to Waldport to meet with law enforcement to provide access inside so they could be searched.

* DURHAM was not seen or found during Thursday's search. He is still considered to be armed and dangerous and is described as a white male, 6'3", 160 – 185 pounds, with long brown hair and blue eyes.

* The last known photograph taken of DURHAM by a surveillance camera within 30 minutes of the shooting at a Lincoln City area business shows him wearing full green camouflage clothing including a long sleeve shirt, pants, and tan or dark colored boots. He was also wearing a dark colored beret. The clothing is similar to that worn in a new photograph released Tuesday that was taken in 2010.

* Waldport area residents will continue to see an increased police presence while the search and investigation continues.

* Boating activities are unrestricted on area waters.

* Anyone who sees someone matching the description of DURHAM should immediately call Lincoln County 9-1-1. Anyone with non-emergent information related to this investigation or about DURHAM should call their non-emergency line at (541) 265-4231.

No additional information for release today.
