At approximately 4:12 PM Canby Fire was dispatched to a two car crash at the intersection of Hwy 99E and Territorial Rd. When crews arrived they found two cars with significant damage from the crash, and eight people that required medical care. A second alarm trauma was immediately requested, which brought and additional two engines and four ambulances to the scene for triage, treatment, and transportation. Lifeflight was initially requested, but due to weather, they were not able to fly to the scene.
In total, three adult females and one pediatric male were seriously injured, requiring trauma system entry. Two of these patients were to OHSU and two to Emanuel Hospital. Two other pediatric patients (toddler aged males) were injured and transported to Willamette Falls Hospital. The final two patients were treated on scene, but refused transport suffering only minor injuries. Exact age of the victims is not available at this time.
Units from Canby, Molalla, Clackamas, and AMR managed the incident, which took nearly an hour to fully process. OSP will be handling the crash investigation.
