Don Edward Smock, Jr. (pictured) is considered a fugitive from justice. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has arrest warrants for Mr. Smock on the following criminal charges:
• 163.670 Using a Child in a Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct -- A felony (13 counts)
• 163.684 Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the First Degree -- B felony (8 counts)

Please reference Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Case #10-12336.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Child Abuse Team Detectives Brian Pearson and Mary Nunn have been investigating this particular case since April 2010. In the early days of this investigation, Don Smock, Jr. immediately fled to the Sacramento, California area -- where he continued to evade law-enforcement efforts to apprehend this suspect.
The victim is the 7-year-old daughter of Barbara Lynn Whitehead, 41, of Damascus, Oregon, where the alleged crimes reportedly occurred.
Barbara Whitehead has not been cooperative with investigators throughout this criminal investigation. After a Clackamas County Grand Jury indicted Don Smock on the above-listed charges on Friday, July 30, 2010, Barbara Whitehead reportedly "secretly married" the indicted child-abuse suspect in Colton.
Investigators have learned this wedding ceremony occurred approximately two hours after the Grand Jury proceeding -- and that the victim daughter was present during the matrimonial event.
The newlyweds reportedly then honeymooned in a Portland hotel throughout the weekend -- accompanied by the child -- until Mr. Smock finally departed, fleeing to somewhere in the State of California.
Barbara Whitehead was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010 at the Clackamas County Courthouse in Oregon City. Whitehead was arrested on the following charges:
• Hindering Prosecution
• Tampering with a Witness
• Perjury
• False swearing
Barbara Whitehead is currently lodged in the Clackamas County Jail, and is scheduled for a 3 p.m. arraignment today (Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010).
