Posted: August 15th, 2010 7:27 AM

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Saturday night's fatal motorcycle crash westbound on Interstate 84 about eleven miles west of Pendleton. The adult male victim's name is withheld pending confirmation of next of kin notification.

According to OSP Trooper Ryan Sharp, on August 14, 2010 at approximately 10:15 p.m. emergency responders were dispatched to a report of a motorcycle crash on near milepost 196. Preliminary investigation indicates there were no witnesses to the crash and a passing motorist found the victim on the gravel shoulder. For an unknown reason, the 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveled off the roadway and along the gravel shoulder where its operator lost control. The motorcycle slid and rolled before coming to rest on the shoulder.

OSP troopers from the Pendleton Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Local emergency responders assisted at the scene.
