CCSO SEEKING ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING NEWLY 'MARRIED' FUGITIVE WHO IS WANTED ON 45-COUNTS OF SEX ABUSE RELATED CRIMINAL CHARGES

Don Edward Smock, Jr. is considered a fugitive from justice and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has arrest warrants for this person with the criminal charges identified as:
163.670 Using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct - A felony - 13 counts
163.684 Encouraging child sex abuse in 1st degree - B felony - 8 counts
163.427 Attempted sex abuse in 1st degree - C felony - 1 count
163.686 Encouraging Child sex abuse in 2nd degree - C felony - 23 counts

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Child Abuse Team Detectives Brian Pearson and Mary Nunn, have been investigating this particular case since April, 2010. During the initial course of this criminal investigation, Don Smock, Jr. immediately fled to the Sacramento, California area where this fugitive continued to evade law enforcement efforts to apprehend this suspect.
The victim is a seven-year-old female who is the daughter of Barbara Lynn Whitehead, 41, of Damascus, Oregon, where the reported crimes are to have occurred.
Barbara Whitehead has not been cooperative with investigators throughout this criminal investigation. After a Clackamas County Grand Jury indicted suspect Don Smock on the above listed charges on Friday, July 30th, 2010, Barbara Whitehead 'secretly married' the indicted child abuse suspect Don Smock in Colton, Oregon.
Investigators have learned this wedding ceremony occurred approximately two hours after the Grand Jury proceeding -- and the victim daughter was present during this matrimonial event.
This newly married couple is reported to have then stayed (honeymooned) in a Portland hotel throughout the weekend – accompanied by the victim child -- until Don Smock finally departed and fled back somewhere in the State of California.
Barbara Whitehead was arrested Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 at the Clackamas County Courthouse, in Oregon City. Whitehead was arrested on the following charges identified as:
• Hindering Prosecution
• Tampering with a Witness
• Perjury
• False swearing
Barbara Whitehead is currently lodged in the Clackamas County Jail and scheduled for a 3:00 pm arraignment (Today) Wednesday, August 4, 2010. (Photo Attached)
