An investigation by Oregon State Police (OSP) Arson & Explosives Section detectives, with the help of Salem Fire Department and Salem Police Department, of last Thursday night's fire at the Oregon State Fairgrounds identified two male juvenile suspects. The fire caused about $7500 damage to property stored in a 60 foot by 200 foot un-sided pole building.

According to OSP Arson Detective Howard Greer, on June 10, 2010 at approximately 9:17 p.m. a fire was reported involving a structure in the southeast corner of the Oregon State Fairgrounds property located at 2330 17th Street Northeast. Salem Fire Department firefighters extinguished the fire before it caused any damage to the structure.

An investigation by OSP arson detectives led to two juvenile male suspects, ages 15 and 14, who live near the fairgrounds. The investigation will be forwarded the District Attorney's Office for criminal prosecution in Juvenile Court against the two juvenile suspects on the following charges:

* Arson in the Second Degree
* Reckless Burning
* Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree
* Criminal Mischief in the First Degree
