Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking for the public's help to identify several people involved in an incident at Diamond Lake Saturday afternoon when a jet sled went up onto a boat dock and struck a 62-year old woman knocking her into the water. After the incident, the boat's operator and two others left on foot without being identified and a fourth person got into the boat and left the dock area to an unknown location of Diamond Lake.

According to OSP Senior Trooper Joseph Smith, on June 12, 2010, boat and shore activity at Diamond Lake was described as very busy while many people were there for weekend activities including free fishing day. A 62-year old woman was walking on the dock with her husband and adult age son at the main marina when a jet sled containing two adults and one child reportedly jumped up onto the dock and hit the woman, knocking her into the water.

The woman, whose name is name available, was retrieved from the lake. She received head and other non-life threatening injuries.

Chemult EMS and OSP were dispatched to the lake. Highway 138E was temporarily shut down to allow an Air Life helicopter to land and transport the injured woman to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend for treatment.

Prior to OSP arrival, the jet sled's adult male operator, his wife and a small child remained at the scene and talked to some of the people who had gathered at the dock. They left before they could be identified. The male boat operator is described as a heavy set white male adult, 30 – 40 years of age, with a shaved or bald head and numerous tattoos. He was not wearing as shirt. His wife is described as an adult white female, medium build with shoulder length blonde hair. The child was only described as a boy about 3 years of age. They may have been staying at an unknown location of the lake.

The boat was initially tied to the dock until an unknown fourth person, an adult male, untied it and drove it away in the lake to an unknown area. There is no provided description of this person but he is thought to possibly be the boat's owner.

The jet sled was described as approximately 20 feet in length, blue or blue & silver in color with a windshield and no top.

An OSP Fish & Wildlife Division trooper is on boat patrol on Diamond Lake trying to find the involved jet sled. Senior Trooper Smith is checking around the lake trying to locate the boat and involved persons.

Any with information to help identify the involved persons and locate the involved jet sled is asked to call OSP Southern Command Center dispatch at (541) 776-6111.
