The Milwaukie Police Department sponsored a FREE document shred event today, netting nearly 8,000 pounds of paper documents. Citizens arrived in the Milwaukie Police Department parking lot, where they handed boxes of paper documents to waiting Milwaukie Police Cadets. A total of 136 vehicles, and four pedestrian walk-ups brought boxes of paperwork containing confidential information for proper disposal.

Many citizens commented that the FREE document shred event was sincerely appreciated, since safe disposal of personal information can be a time-consuming task.

The document shred event was offered to reduce Identity Theft and other fraud crimes. Chief Bob Jordan and the Milwaukie Police Department wishes to thank citizens for participating in this crime prevention event.
