CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATES MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT

Sheriff's Office Investigates Serious Injury Motorcycle Accident
Vancouver, Wa: On June 6th at approximately 7:10 pm the Sheriff's Office, Washington State Patrol and Fire District 6 responded to a possible injury vehicle accident on I-205 and NE Padden Park Way.
Arriving unit found that the accident had occurred on Padden Park Way on the overpass over I-205 in the eastbound lanes. The accident involved a small sedan and a motorcycle.
Investigation revealed that the motorcycle was eastbound on NE Padden Park Way in the outside right lane and attempted to make a left turn to enter the ramp to northbound I-205 by crossing the inside eastbound lane, the sedan which was also eastbound struck the motorcycle when it crossed in front of it. The sedan could not avoid striking the motorcycle.
The rider of the motorcycle received head and facial injuries and was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center in serious condition.
The Motorcycle rider was identified as:
Billy R. Stephenson 73 year of age
Yuma, Arizona
He was riding a 1995 Honda shadow Motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet and alcohol was not a factor.
The driver of the sedan was not injured.
No citations have been issued.
