Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers arrested a father and son from Kirkland, Washington Sunday afternoon when they were found in possession of over 3 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 about three miles south of Ashland.

According to OSP Sergeant Steve Mitchell, on April 18, 2010 at approximately 1:51 p.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 2000 BMW 325i displaying Washington license plates northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 11 for a traffic violation. The driver, JONATHAN MILLER, age 24, from Kirkland, Washington was accompanied by his father, RICHARD MILLER, age 56.

Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led to the discovery on nearly 3 1/2 lbs. of marijuana located in the car's trunk. The seized marijuana has an estimated value of $10,000.

JONATHAN MILLER and RICHARD MILLER were taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Jackson County Jail for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
