Case #13-500058
On January 1, 2013, at about 1:30 p.m., Sheriff's deputies were called to 222 Front Street in Gaston for a man who had suffered serious knife wounds. Thirty-six-year-old Brian O'Neel (from Forest Grove) had multiple knife wounds to his hands and face.
Deputies quickly determined that Mr. O'Neel and another man, 38-year-old Delaney VanLoo (from Gales Creek), were involved in an altercation at an apartment a few blocks away. Mr. O'Neel was taken to Emanuel hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies went to the nearby apartment, located at 98 2nd Street in Gaston, to look for Mr. VanLoo and any other potential victims. Mr. VanLoo's ten-year-old son and his estranged wife were both in the apartment and were both unharmed.
Detectives from the Washington County Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit were called out to take over the investigation. They were not able to locate Mr. VanLoo who left the scene in a green-blue 1994 Chevy pick up truck with Oregon Plate UWF649. Detectives are not releasing details of the incident at this time and are asking the public's help in locating Delaney VanLoo who is considered a person of interest.
Please see the attached photo of Mr. VanLoo who is described as a heavyset man, about 5'10" tall weighing 220 pounds.
If you have any information regarding this incident or you know the whereabouts of Mr. VanLoo, please call the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 503-629-0111.
