On January 10, 2013, at about 10:07 a.m., Sheriff's Deputies were called to a disturbance
at the Willow Springs Apartments, 3117 SW Doyle Place, in the community of Aloha, an
area of the Enhanced Sheriff's Patrol District (ESPD).
Deputies arrived to find that a 42-year old woman who resides at the complex reported
being attacked by her estranged boyfriend, Jose Ponce-Guitron, 46, who is considered a
transient.
According to investigators, Mr. Ponce-Guitron came to the apartment complex looking for
his estranged girlfriend. He reportedly used a metal tool to break the back glass door and
gain entry to her apartment, then attacked the woman with a knife.
Neighbors heard the commotion and forced open the apartment's front door to help the
woman. When the neighbors entered, Mr. Ponce-Guitron ran out the back door. The
woman sustained a deep cut to her neck and was transported to Emanuel Hospital by
ground ambulance. Her condition does not appear to be life threatening.
Washington County Violent Crimes Unit Detectives were called in to assist with this
investigation.
It is believed that Mr. Ponce-Guitron fled in his green 1999 Honda Pilot bearing Oregon
plate YMY389. Sheriff's Deputies are asking the public's help in locating Mr. Ponce-
Guitron. He is currently wanted on several felony crimes, including Burglary, Unlawful
Use of a Weapon, and Assault.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Jose Ponce-Guitron, please call the
Sheriff's Office at 503-629-0111. You can remain anonymous.
