On January 5, 2013, at about 5:00 pm, Casey Michael Tschida, age 32, of Lemon Grove, California, was arrested on a fugitive warrant at the Portland VA Medical Center by the Portland Police Bureau at the request of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office who were assisting the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Mr. Tschida was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on the fugitive warrant. There is no bail. The original charge is Homicide.
Mr. Tschida is currently on suicide watch, which is a standard procedure at the Clackamas County Jail when a person is lodged on Measure 11 equivalent charges.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office provided assistance to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office by serving search warrants on Mr. Tschida's vehicle and the home of his parents, both of which were located at 11848 SE Southern Lites Drive, Happy Valley. The results of the search warrants are not available for release as this is an open investigation.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office investigators do not have any further details about the incident available for release.
