On 09/01/2014 at about 1:30 pm, Clark County deputies were dispatched to a reported assault by stabbing incident at the 15700 BLK of NE 15th Avenue. The female victim reported being attacked by an unknown male assailant while on her deck in her backyard. She reported that he had a large knife, with which he slashed her face and inflicted stab wounds on her chest and lower abdomen. The victim was transported to Peace Health Southwest Washington Medical Center for treatment of injuries which, at this time, appear to be non-life threatening and relatively minor. Deputies contained the area and attempted a canine track but were unable to locate any evidence or identify a suspect. Detectives from the Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit are continuing the investigation and are conducting additional, detailed interviews.

No further details are available at this time. Further information may be released at a later time.
