On Friday July 5, 2013 at about 4pm, witnesses called 911 to report a missing adult female in the water upstream from the Carver Bridge.

While rafting on the Clackamas River, a female jumped out of the raft just upstream from Carver Park to take a swim. A short time later she was seen going under water. The male adult made it to the shore and called for help.

Currently, the adult female is unaccounted for and the Clackamas County's Water Rescue Consortium is in active search mode. The lost female was not wearing a life vest at the time of the incident and it is not known if alcohol was a factor.

Personnel from Clackamas County Sherriff's Office, Gladstone Fire, Clackamas County Fire, Lake Oswego Fire and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue are operating the coordinated incident (Clackamas County Water Rescue Consortium).

Authorities have asked the public to remain clear of the Carver Boat Ramp on the Clackamas River to allow optimum effectiveness of the search operation. Four rescue boats and six divers with a single underwater camera were deployed to assist.

UPDATE: At 5:53 p.m., unified command switched operational modes from rescue to recovery due to the time frame involved. SCUBA divers are still actively searching the area.
