PRELIMINARY INFORMATION - FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH - HIGHWAY 99E SOUTH OF OREGON CITY

Highway 99E south of Oregon City is still closed following Friday afternoon's two-vehicle fatal traffic crash that resulted in the death of one person and possible injury to a second person. No names or other identifying information will be released until possibly Saturday morning.

Preliminary information indicates on December 21, 2012 at approximately 1:25 p.m. a 2001 Dodge Durango was northbound on Highway 99E near milepost 17 north of South End Road when it crossed the center paved median and collided nearly head-on with a southbound passenger car. The lone occupant of the passenger car was pronounced deceased at the scene. The adult male driver of the Dodge Durango was transported by AMR ambulance to Willamette Falls Hospital in Oregon City for an examination of a possible injury.

OSP troopers from the Portland and Salem offices responded to the scene. OSP is assisted at the scene by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Canby Fire Department, and ODOT.
